Hmm, the axleboxes look a little odd - I wonder how familiar Dave is/was with Eastleigh locos. I also wonder whether you've got the stretcher in the right way round, although I'm not familiar with the kit to know whether it's designed to look like that. If so, it too would be a little odd...

Does the kit cover both Urie and Maunsell locos? I know it's got the Urie cab that was fitted to the first batch of Maunsell locos, but does it also have the different boiler, steam pipes and smoke deflectors to allow a Urie loco to be built?

I'll be interested to see how you get on with this, it's a kit I'd very much like to build. Should I ever find the time!

Will check the stretcher Steph but the central bearing comes out centrally so won’t affect the position if it is! The kit covers both Urie and Maunsell, although there is some common parts used which should be different. The slide bars for example are for the Maunsell engines where the early Urie had fluted straight ones

Just checked back on it Steph, the kit is designed in such a way in that it has to be in that way. There is a small and big tab either end so the stretcher only fits one way! Thought I was at fault with it, but appears not to be the case.
