MOK Q1

If they did, Cliff has no idea which way round they were attached! :):)

Cliff,
I as I recall, this is your first MOK build. How do rate the design approach compared to Finney? Personally, I prefer the Finney approach as exemplified by the A3 and A4 and thought the MOK (4MT tank) overly complex in places. A brilliant piece of design and an absolute pleasure to build non the less.

Looking at Mickoos W1 build, he and the Finney 7 team have taken Martin's concept to the next level, so it will interesting to see how things develop on that front.

Super work on the Q1, but in they end it will be a beautifully made ugly duckling.

Cheers,
Peter

Surprised you never heard of the extended range 47 trials using old Bulleid tenders? Wasn’t a success though :)

I find the MOK Q1 to be an absolute pleasure to build. I had previously rated the Finney Duchess as probably the best kit back in 2002, things have changed a bit!
I have not used solder in anger for ten years having done a run of resin kits, there is a back catalogue of MOK in the queue along with Finney kits.

I think the early Finney kits are a tad basic with a 28xx sitting partly done from ten years ago. The 47xx is a nice kit.

The Finney A3 was a good kit having built a few of those, never did an A4 though. There are a few sitting in the queue with AGH wheels to keep me busy.
I am looking forward to trying a Finney7 revamped T9 at some point for Newhurst, the B1 could be a cracker too.

Bob Langford introduced himself and asked about the Q1 tender missing centre box leaf spring riser as he had made the pattern for Dave.
I found it so it’s out with the gas axe shortly. I must check and see if it is mentioned in the instructions, it is listed on the parts list but I think that is all.
