.......Going back to the boiler exhaust port, I found a photo of 1662 prior to the Serck louvers being fitted. Also lots of original underarme detail.(Can't remember where I found the pic, must have down loaded ages ago as I had forgotten all about having it)

So I am now confident about the exhaust arrangement, I can find something else to worry about!!

Made a start on enlarging the windscreen apertures today. I had look at the 'glazing' material and was somewhat disappointed with the quality.
It resembles the remnants of cheap blister packaging, very flimsy and not very 'see through' so I will have to nip out and get some Perspex sheet.

Not a lot of progress due to external matters. Got the Perspex windscreens cut and temporarily fitted , and soldered the front window frames in place. The windows sit nice and flush. I'm wondering what to do with the side windows as the opening one is set back a little on the real 47 .I have also profiled the bottom of the body casting, and cut the fan apertures, finishing with the Dremel rotary sander tool.

Hi guys...
I'm on the scrounge for more info please...
I'm just working on the cab bulkheads.
DJH supply the bulkhead doors with windows, and an infill etch for the window.
Do the 47s ( in particular Crewe built) have the windows in the doors or a window, say, at just at the No1 end and solid at the other?
Also does anyone produce the warning notices applied to the cab bulkheads?

Thanks!!

No idea about the doors, but Pugsley on here sells transfers for the warning notices both old style and modern.

Richard,
As far as I know, windows in doors at both ends. There are a good few cab interior views on Flickr which might help.

Thanks chaps!
What prompted the questions regarding the doors and signage was this photo I came across....

I wondered if the loco possibly had a replacement door ...
My other 1/2 thinks I'm over thinking :)
Quote: who will see it? who is going to peer in to the window?

Tough crowd!! :)

Many thanks Mick, I will build with the window flaps in place.
I can't believe how many 47s I have 'cabbed' over the years and not noticed!!

Isn't it strange that sometimes it takes a photo to notice a glaring mistake! Looking at the photo of the cab seating, I realised the drivers seat was tilted forward. Now rectified!

I have got the drivers desks made up and painted. The desks are not wholly prototypical (especially around the 2nd man's side) but look ok.
I'm going to crack on with the buffer beams, valances and handrails next.

IKB had it plated in later years. Also it had a crash and had a flush fronted cab at some point too.
