....so we've moved on a little bit more. The resin mouldings for the side covers were prepped and test fitted. All went surprisingly well considering the 'issues' I had had with some of the other resin bits! Some rebates were cut for the oil boxes (horncheek) on the driver's side and the sand box lids fitted. Some additional covers/hatches were glued in place to depict the loco in the desired era. The resin covers were then 'tacked' in place with superglue and then secured firmly with a good application of epoxy. Very little filling was required between boiler and covers.

The ejector pipe was fitted up along with some handrails.

And next some prototypically dodgy pipework added.

Thanks JB. I was particularly taken with the wire that appears to be spiralling along the length ot the handrail. It's held on with what look like cable ties (all still present in 51 at rebuilding.) Couldn't miss the opportunity to put that on.

In 1951 it was more likely to be Jubilee clips - you'll have to change them. :):):):):)

This was the last bit of plumbing on the model. The pipes to the huge oil cooler at the front of the loco. Just the intermediate boiler saddles and the smoke deflectors to go. Then paint, reassembly, lubricators and piping, coal, crew.........etc.

I've had another look at photographs of LMS crew and it appears their jackets were of a lighter colour material, possibly grey. As a result I have lightened their jackets and given them white collars as I noticed they were wearing white shirts under their overalls.

Now ready for post t'Sheffield

I'm guessing because it'll be in LMS livery, they will be fitted later as there may be lining around them?
