O Gauge Figures

One of my favourite parts of our amazing hobby is adding details to lay outs, a big part of this is figures. Vignettes tell a story and bring the lay out to life and you need figures to do this with.

As well as painting figures for my own lay out I have been lucky and very honoured to be asked to paint a lot for my friends lay out. This thread is to show you what I have done and what I am currently doing.

I hope you like it. John :)

Old Mrs Brown has lived in her line side cottage for more than 70 years. It has become the norm for the crew of the days first goods train out of Shelby Wood Sidings, to take her a bucket of coal. A blind eye is always turned to this unscheduled stop and a five minute delay is always put on the next train to leave. No one can remember exactly how long this practise as been going on, suffice to say that the same thing was done for Mrs Browns Mother.
Here we see the bucket filled and the crew of Pannier Tank 3716 getting ready for the off while a PY gang are briefed on the work planned for the day.

I have used the train spotting figures in different settings...…….

It's young Brian's birthday and at great cost, his parents have bought him a camera, no less! His birthday treat is a picnic in Shelby Wood and of course he has brought his new camera with him.

We see Brian here, juggling the camera and instruction book has his Dad, Mum, Sister and Brother stand patiently to have their photo taken...….

For his first attempt with his new camera, the photo's did not turn out to bad...……..

Grand Ma ain't 'appy……….

Katie's brother, William, was a little envious of her kite so Grand Pa Joe has been busy in his shed, up grading Katie's Kite and making one for Will.

To brighten them up a bit he decided to add some patterns, not being very good with a paint brush, he decided to 'borrow' some of his good lady's best lace doyles, which he glued in place.

The kids both love their kites but "Grand Ma ain't 'appy"

Now look here - we sometimes have to comment on WT about how unethical it is to post photos of real trains, and claim it is a model

.... but taking photos of real people and claiming they are models just takes it to another level!!

;) :) :D

Amazing work. Simply amazing.
