Interesting 'place for everything' at the back of the desk/bench - do you have details.....?

That is a very nice bench, and the models look great.

As this thread has been somewhat dormant, I thought it time to show that things are happening here in Padgate. My health travails appear to be settling a wee bit so, easy does it and on with the show.

The above opens are destined for the cut of spoil carrying stock I am in the process of finally finishing. All the usual fiddly bits are present frae the usual suspects...

Oh no, not more "bl##dy vans..."
Well these are the scraps that didn't make the Chatham Show last year. The Dia.1/208 van has some ALPS printed lettering, pertaining to one of the principle traffics in and out of Mostyn. Now the presence of all the ex iron ore hoppers makes more sense hopefully. The sulpur traffic to Amlwch was still in 1977, a very important working. The only issue was the mess

PS. I know about the missing tiebar...

Mostyn was out on its travels this last weekend at "The Great Electric Train Show"
Enjoy the video footage of P4 diesels entertaining the punters and the masses of stock having a wee trundle...:thumbs::thumbs:

The dearth of updates on activities at Padgate Works finally is coming to an end. A new image hosting site has provided a stimulus to reactivate my forum activities.
Mostyn is bound for Alexandra Palace in a few weeks time so the spoil rake, which has slowly been progressing for some time, is now nearing completion... I hope you can get an idea were things are upto.

Some more progress on the "spoil rake." This collection of shattered, banged up auld stock is ending its useful life in the service of the Engineering Department. All of the below are making their debuts at the annual Alexandra Palace this weekend. Mostyn will be entertaining the punters in its own unique way...

The continuing saga of stock for the 'Spoil Rack' is finally reaching a conclusion.
Destined for the next time Mostyn is exhibited, the below examples have all my usual tweakings and fettlings and have been finished with a good deals of filth, gunk and a crappy load of used ballast.
    More to come soon...

As well as finishing the spoil rake, some auld projects have been reactivated - VERY auld projects.
The two MR Dia 363 vans have been in existence for nigh on 25 years or more and have had a good deal of detailed upgrading. The LNER Dia 172 is another item of stock destined for an Engineering Trip Rake on Mostyn.
    The 'Works' ventures onwards...:drool::thumbs:;) 2018-08-29-17-23-34.jpg 2018-08-29-17-20-46.jpg 2018-08-29-17-18-33.jpg

More activities for your entertainment... 2018-09-05-14-46-40.jpg 2018-09-05-14-52-45.jpg

Firstly, a Rumney Models etching, kit #63. This enables you to create some of the rarer LMS opens, depending on the chassis you use. I have had a goodly number of Justin Newitts creations for some time, an interesting winter beckons methinks...
The second item is a Parkside LMS Dia1661 cattle van. The body assembly is done as are the side rails. The chassis will be sprung using Bill Bedford w-irons.
More after a wee Autumnal weekend break with the bread-knife.... ;)

    Fresh activities in darkest Cheshire...

Grampus progress - a Dapol body, Bill Bedford w-irons and numerous details. The Rumney Models etch has made so much of this easier.

Progress with that Rumney Models etch. The ends are used with modified Parkside open sides. Impressive and intelligent design. More to come soon...

The underframe baskets; etched in nickel-silver, they are a joy to behold.
More soon as the paint shop beckons...

Some finished items from darkest Cheshire...

    2018-10-24-22-47-43.jpg

All that this Grampus needs now is a load of tatty, expired ballast. The first of a few methinks...

    2018-10-24-22-54-19.jpg

This ex LNER Dia 172 van is now being used the S & Tm chaps. Who knows what is actually within it?

    2018-10-24-22-50-52.jpg

Another auld ex LMS medfit awaits some expired ballast. Not many unfitted medfits actually made it to 1977 without being converted to full vacuum braking. However a few did, ending their days carrying all sorts of spoil and rubbish.
The 'spoil rake' will be entering the Mostyn roster at the coming Wakefield MRS show, together with a lot of other new stock. The creative muse has indeed been very kind and giving of late...
