Hello Again, yet another of my unfinished projects but this one is a recent aquisition and couldnt wait to start it so it has jumped the queue   Its a nice kit to build, one thing to note with it is that in order to stop the floor looking too thick its best to cut the top right angle off the solebar beam (see model rail march 08) I also chose to omit the sandboxes so now ill have to find a prototype same, Its nice and heavy too as ive put two big weights from an old lima33. Glued a piece of 1200grit wet and dry to roof with contact adhesive to give it a rough look, this is quite effective but has warped the roof slightly so might take a bit of fixing on   Ross...

I dont know anything about SR brakevans, but that looks a decent kit up to the usual Parkside standard
you probably need something on the other side of the roof to balance the stress and to stop it warping, same sort of principle as plywood :D

I think I'm right in saying that most if not all of the 25T vans lost the sandboxes in BR days, although the 15 tonners kept them; many pics here if you've not already thought to look:

Certainly gives it a nice texture, that'll weather up nicely.  Did you sort the warping, or has it just got worse over the last year  ;D

Hi thanks for the link to the pictures
With reference to the roof its not got any worse and I still haven't got around to glueing it on yet either  Sorry I'm a slow worker :headbang:
Not decided on colour yet, will be BR grey or BR bauxite though

very good impressive just dont drop the thing on your foot with all that weight in it

Its a heavy old beast the weights are from a Lima 33 I butchered some time ago, don't think there would be a right lot left of it if it hit the floor with all that weight behind it anyway Ian Ha Ha :)) :))

Hi Martyn thanks again for the kind words
It was a really nice kit to make, I just fancied making something I could "just put together" needed a break from the norm  :vista:...
Regards Ross...
