While I had the primer in my hand I gave this a quick squirt. its made from an mmp kit, which took rather longer than I thought :D
the legs are not fixed until the final coat.
I think it will look the part with a Transit outside :D
I really must make a photo tent because my photos are so crap!

Sorry for the delay in replying to this thread...!! Any particular reason why it took longer than expected?

Looks good though! It would be interesting to know* when Portacabins started being used, ie what BR periods they're compatible with?

*purely for research, of course!! :p

I just thought it would be a quick bit of soldering, but all the supports etc need to be folded, the raised panels need to be soldered etc, I thought about 5 hours would see it done but it took double that. and those nice fine steps you see are folded up from one flat etch, that took an hour! the opening windows will be fitted after final painting. But as usual with MMP everything fitted with no adjustments needed.
Dont get me wrong its the best portacabin you will get, but its not a JLTRT shake the box experience.
I believe they started in use in the early 70's, colours are that blue/grey we all know and Kaki green as used by the forces (there are some nice examples outside RAF Cosford) Mine will be the grey as its going to be a site office.

An MMP kit not being a shake the box experience?.........there's a suprise :p  , nice model though
Does anyone know why MMP never seem to attend GOG shows?

I think Dave felt that it wasnt economically viable to do exhibitions , his margins must be fairly tight judging by his very reasonable prices. Railways are not his main source of income either, its the military stuff that apparently pays the bills.
