Question on price

I have been asked by the widow of a friend of mine to dispose of his railway items, I have found amongst his possessions this model:-
It is a limited edition of ex LMS 10000 made by FIA TRAINS, it has an edition number 194/200 in original livery, and the total production run was 402.
Hopefully some one can come up with a realistic price as I don't want to undersell it for her.

We need some decent photos of it, is it working, is it finescale, with that we can reach a reasonable conclusion.

An accurate looking working model in excellent condition might be worth a few hundred pounds.

A bit of Googling found this reference to the FIA 10000:

It was sold as an up-market model with an up-market price tag of £475. As a limited edition I suspect resale prices will be higher than the more recent large volume models from other manufacturers.

As requested some photo's of 10000. What I didn't say is, it is 00, when I got it out of the box I found it has sprung bogies but 1 coupling is damaged.



Also found was this little gem from 00 works, hand built Johnson 1698 class 2F. These are the photo's


Once again I haven't got a clue regarding the price, but there is an invoice in the box for £238.00

A simple answer would be to put them on ebay at silly high prices and/or best offer. You never know what someone will pay for something, which is why ebay exists to some extent. Over the years I have seen some things I would like but at silly prices I don't want to pay, after a few weeks/months they do sell.
Start around the £500 mark and bring them down till you get a nibble would be a simple if dirty way of getting their full value realised. Ask lots of people and you get lots of guesses.

Agreed! You can set a lower limit at which you would accept the lowest bid or not at all so you can reach a mutually satisfactory price

Alternatively, if you do an advanced search on ebay you can look at completed listings which will give you an idea for what they've sold for in the past (assuming any have been sold in the period covered by the ebay history).

Indeed Pugs, but with the rapid listing tool it will give you a price range if you sell it on But It Now-I would normally edge towards the higher limit (You can always come down!)
