Railex 2016 Model Railway Exhibition

Advance notice of next years RAILEX Geoff Williams iconic EM model of Aylesbury LNWR will be on display and this will be the only chance to see this layout exhibited as it was built in Geoff's loft and was never intended to taken out, so as well as being heavy and delicate it is not really suited to being transported too many times.

That looks a super line up of layouts. They are all good, but I count 5 on my specific want to see list. The Heyside gang will be out in force:)

Will no doubt pop over to see you on 63 Ian, but will have to spend a lot of time at 28, that being my Dad's old model!

Mike

28 is the one I'm particularly looking forward to, Aylesbury, along with Buckingham, is one of the main reasons I'm attempting to do Bath (68)

I as always will be on car park duty, with a big smile on my face when i send people including those using the gym down to the overflow carpark

Hi Mike you are welcome to be on hand to explain the layout to visitors, your brother Bob is going to be there both days, as he is now a member of our club. I know our club has been very careful to conserve the model rather than change anything that your father did. It really is a fantastic model, and I guess if there is any place Aylesbury should be exhibited, then it should be Aylesbury itself.

I saw the DVD BRM have done of the layout and also the article that will be in the magazine and it really does the layout justice.

Thanks David. I'll be there but let Bob do the talking. Just pleased with the huge effort you and the club have out into giving this model a new lease of life and a few more tears. Dad would have been delighted that it was able to be shown in public, especially to local Aylesbury people.

It seems like ages ago it was stored in my house, monopolising all the spare space and getting dusty. Finding somebody to look after it was hugely stressful at the time.

Thank you.

I know that those who have been involved in the conservation of Aylesbury have put quite a bit of effort in to making sure it runs very well, and also repaired some details that were damaged. As Railex will be it only showing we want to ensure that it looks its best and will be running to a race day timetable.

Wibdenshaw will be exhibited for the last time at Railex as it has been sold and will be moving to Spain sometime in the summer. I try and make sure Railex is good every year but I think this year I feel excited about the line up.
