Thanks for posting that David. :)

I'm looking forward to seeing "Black Country Blues" in the flesh, but top marks for booking the 7mm stuff, especially "82G" and "Aberbeeg". Also in 7mm, "Grindley Brook" is not a layout I'm familiar with, but as the Hillingdon Railway Modellers (builders of "East Dean"), were behind it, I figured it ought to be good, so I checked out their web site and found some work in progress pictures....

I particularly like the level of detail incorporated into the bridge that takes the railway over the canal.

In O gauge we also have Frecclesham http://www.newportmrs.co.uk/frecclesham.htm and Peter Kazer's Corris which is 1/4" scale (American O Gauge), In fact half the hall is devoted to O gauge, I am just finishing the floor plan and only managed to fit everything in!

I think Grindley Brook may be it's first showing at Railex 2015

We also have four 3mm scale layouts to celebrate the 3mm Society 50th Anniversary.

Hi David, ISTR that Grindley Brook was at the Peterborough show, year before last, albeit in a slightly less finished state..

It was still a lovely bit of kit though..

As I read the list I was beginning to wander how we were all going to fit in the hall. Looking forward to Hava Beers only outing in 2015.

Best show of the year. We will be there with William Smith's Wharf and John will have lots of locos on StBlazey which is actually part of the fiddle yard on his home layout (see MRJ 235) - the John and Jerry micro layout show! In between us we will have a small demo/ clinic area so if you have any questions for a reasonably competent bodger (me) or probably the most talented modeller I know (John) then come and see us.

Jerry ( Clifford, not Chifford :) )

It all fits in so far as I have just finalised the floor plan. There are still a few of the societies to firm up but those who came last year have their space.

There was a John and Gerry show a few years back as I remember John Hall and Gerry Warner who are no longer with us but have a display at Pendon of there work, I think the current John & Jerry show have a different look!

I think the big news of the show is Wild Swan maybe taking plastic!

We will have our free vintage bus running from the railway station car park to RAILEX and return both days on Saturday it will run every half an hour and Sunday every hour. It is recommend those coming by car to park in Friarscroft car park and get the bus in. RAILEX tickets and programmes can be brought on the bus avoiding getting them at the stadium front desk.

Hi Len

There is free car parking at the stadium but this tends to fill quite quickly, we have hired Stoke Mandeville Hospital staff car park as an overspill, which our stewards will direct you to from the stadium. There is also the hospital car parks but these charge.

We do suggest you park in the Friarscroft car park (behind Morrisons) and close to the railway station and use our vintage routemaster bus to RAILEX

By 10 am the stadium car park is full, those of us on the car park try our best to get you in, If we have a dry few weeks I can find other parking areas on the grass up a hill, be patient if you want to park at the stadium I am not super human, sometimes I have to shout trust me you can hear me when your stereo is on loud and windows closed and my voice carries, disabled drivers we will always find a space even when the marked ones are full.
Enjoy the show I always do.

Dan, don't mention anything to the East Dean boys about S7..

In 2012 at my local show, I got heavily scalded within 15 seconds of talking to them, asking them about their layout and it's size, and mentioning how I was (at the time) making plans to build an S7 layout... Frankly I was stunned that the people operating the layout had ripped me a new one, when I had paid for a few hours entertainment at the show.

I was for want of a better word speechless at the time..

Sorry to hear that JB. These days, East Dean seems to be in this care of the Wolverhampton O gauge chaps (the guys that built 82G). One of their number, Pete Silvester, has supplied myself and a friend with several inside motion castings & turnings that he uses on his "Castles" and he never laughed when S7 was mentioned. I can only imagine it was one of the previous owners/builders (or a guest operator), that had a dig at you. It's still not British though!

How's the layout planning coming along?
