Just caught the last 2/3rds of a great TV documentary on More4 presented by Pete Waterman (the 3rd in a series of 4) which I am sure has been broadcast before -

If you haven't yet seen it, look out for the northern mill town lady who as a youngster was a signalwoman - I won't give the game away but her mention of the American troop train had me in stitches
