I've used the standard motorising set up as supplied by Metal Smith.
Simple DC control.
I do intend on fitting the motor with a DCC chip so it can be driven by DCC and fitting a CCTV security camera over head, that way I can align the roads accurately by watching the TV screen as the turn table is out of view!
Failing that I will have to go down the stepper motor route.

That's a shame.

I'm sure some of 'the lads' would come round to chop it into 4 x 2 sections and chuck into the back of a trannie van to take to a show :eek:.

I just hope 54E is of a similar quality when I get it finished and ready for shows ... eventually.

Beautifully coloured, but still, that slightly dropped effect at the corners. I take it this is laser cut? It seems to be more an absence of pointing on the corners, where the parts interlink. What a pity they can't be mitred instead. But the painting of that brickwork is magical!
