Re-sizing photos in Picasa

Someone on WT posted a thread on re-sizing pictures in Picasa but I can't find it. I use Picasa but don't know how to re-size. Can that member re-post, please. I did look at the other thread on re-sizing but want to go down the Picasa route first.

Hi Jon,

I did not post the original answer to resizing on Picasa, but.....................

At the bottom of the hoto that you are looking at there are a row of tabs

'Share' 'eMail' 'Print' and 'Export'

click on the Export tab and a new window opens and among the options is one for resizing- chose your preference and then any other option that you need, click on Export, a new window opens with a highlighted file (the same name as your main file that has the photo in that you are exporting) double click on it and a new file opens with your exported photo in, close that file by clicking on the red box in the top right hand corner, that file then clears and you are back on the main file to chose your next photo. A new section is then automatically added at the bottom of the folders list on the left hand side of the library screen.

I hope that this helps.

cheers

Mike

I followed your instructions but without any joy, I'm afraid. It would only let me re-size by altering the pixels and I reduced these from 320 down to 200 and it still wouldn't load to WT. Any idea what's going wrong?

Hi Jon,

sorry about the delay in replying but I have been away for a few days being entertained by the youngest grandchildren - 4 & 3, back home now to recover!

The only thing that I can suggest is that when you choose your photo for uploading it should be from the 'Exported' file and not the original file.

I hope that this is the answer.

regards

Mike

Dear Mike

I think that I've managed it simply by persisting and yes, didn't know about the export file but I do now and I try to put other re-sized pictures in the same file. Fingers crossed that I don't forget!!

Thanks for your help
Jon
