OK so it's not an exhibition but couldn't find anywhere to put this...…….

Blatant advertising alert.

Metalsmith titfer on.

As we're only three weeks away from the pre-Christmas jolly (sorry for using the C word, ooops!!) at Reading on the 7th December, could I remind potential customers of Metalsmiths, that if they give me a bit of notice of their requirements, I can parcel it up & have it ready for collection, also save the disappointment of you rocking up to find that other people have got in there first and bought the last of what you want about 5 minutes before you arrive at the stand...…

Metalsmith titfer off.

Of course, this can also apply to other traders who will be joining the fun & games - give 'em a bit of a warning, that you'll be wishing to purchase their goodies.

Look forward to seeing you all there

Just returned from Reading - A successful day from a trading point of view. Well organised show with gratifying considerable interest in what was on display.

Just home, (via a diversion to the National Portrait Gallery, and dinner in town) have not yet examined my wonga...

Good show, though it looked a bit quieter than usual, spent moderately, had a chat with lots of folks, nice day out!

Hope to see everyone at Brizzl !

Given that it’s a trade show and thus, no layouts, one of the highlights for me was seeing Neil Podbury’s charming photographic diorama. Sadly, I couldn’t take a photo of it, as my phone’s storage is maxed out - oh, the irony! :)). (Did anyone else get a picture of it they could share here?). I didn’t get a chance to talk to him about it, as he was engaged in conversation with a couple of people, but it’s made me more determined to build a photo plank of my own, sooner, rather than later. If you're reading this Neil, thank you!

Bumped into Yorkshire Dave and had a chat about his excellent London Transport stuff and spent a while at the Finney7 stand chatting and examining their forthcoming 94xx pannier tank, which I’m sure will be very popular.

I bought myself two new scratch pens (one red, one yellow), to accompany the blue one I already have. Henceforth, the blue one will be fitted with steel refills, the yellow one will be brass and the red (for danger), glass fibre - you’ve got to have a system and I’m sure most of my “glass fibre in the finger” incidents, have been caused by changing the refill in a single pen from one type to another, rather than actually using them! I also bought a CRT Kits, Thompson 6-wheeler, as a combined birthday/Christmas present - I’ll post a piccie later, before it gets taken off me until the 25th....

Edit: Here’s the picture mentioned above....

Here are two of my acquisitions, along with one I completed earlier, in best Valerie Singleton tradition.

The middle one is a Parkside kit, not terribly well built, but at the price, worth a punt, it’ll be a challenge as there a few bits missing, and no transfers, but hopefully will turn out ok. The leftmost is a WEP brass kit, beautifully built, and again, reasonably priced, I’m delighted with this. It’s so nice that I’m a little worried about weathering it. Maybe gently, just a bit...image.jpg

The other purchases were a set of transfers for the JPL APOC twin tank that is currently on the workbench, and one of Big Jim’s GW Toads, that found itself surplus to requirements at Kavanagh towers. That might find itself on the workbench son after the sad Mica A...

As I said, a grand day out!
