Finally to close, 'Lest we forget' The memorial to the fallen at Paddington P1, of a whole train I think I was the only one to pause and give thanks, a very sad sign of the times :'(. To them all, past and future, we owe everything, thank you.

Great pics Cynric & Mick ....thanks for sharing them:)

Still got my doubts about the HJ Wezzy, it will be interesting to see the Western once Brian Daniels has painted one...........but the 40 & 31 look good.

Phill :)
Yeah, As Jordan pointed out, 3ft away in the garden you probably wouldnt notice;) Im afraid its a case of wait and see. The D63 on the jltrt looked nice but it seems some way off completion, Kettering was mentioned.

I also had a shock getting off the train at Newport, what has happened to the station?! the same thing happened at Reading where I was looking for the Motorail terminal and the parcels tunnel ;).
Weird trip on the way back, Newport via Bath into Bristol parkway (12 minute layover) and out the opposite direction to Newport. A journey that took 1.20 in the morning took a timetabled 1.55 in the afternoon, it felt like they were trying to waste time.
Then when I arrived in Newport the train way 22 minutes late and packed with grumpy rugby fans, sardines until Abergavenny, standing all the way to Hereford.

Mick, never mind the V2 look at the Broad gauge Rover !!!
Also on the MOK stand was the DeGlehn, I was so busy looking at that I didnt notice anything on the 9F.

I think you have the job of WT exhibition photographer :)

Only just noticed the Rover on the Finney stand myself when I went through the photos, I'd've taken some closer better shots if I'd noticed!

Never got close enough to MOK so nowt to report there.

Photos, your welcome, wouldn't want to bore people though LOL, but will continue to post up what's appropriate as and when if that's all right with y'all.

The Hat is being interviewed on the Gnome Service next week (for those who some inkling of the response, think David Bowie before he became famous, say 1966-67).

Good to speak to you Steph, nice to meet your Dad as well.

regards, Graham

The BBC Gnome Service, I assume - well as long as you've got your elf that's the main thing...

Mick,
The landslide between Bristol (Parkway) and Swindon has been somewhat misreported by the press. Geographically it may be between the two, but it's actually on the line between Cheltenham and Bristol - so it's mainly affecting Cross Country services rather than First Great Western.

Many Thanks

Phill ;)

Steph, so why all FGW Wales trains being diverted then, that's what they said at Reading and on the train, sounds like another left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing scenario? LOL

They might still be working on Sodbury tunnel at the weekends - there was a landslip there in early November.

Jim.

Whatever it was, there was no landslide in the morning.
Also standing on Reading platform I couldn't believe the HST is 35 odd years old, it still seems new to me!

Given what you bought on the day this looks like a very severe case of "scattering gunner everywhere".

I didn't make it Reading yesterday. Looks like it was a good event. Great photos.

Good to see the HJ 31 is finally close to arrival. (Don't think I can find an excuse to run a 40 on my Kings Lynn layout... Then again, D200 in it's late retro green livery did make it into the platforms on an open day once... ooh..?)

Didn't Wylie Coyote in Roadrunner order all his stuff from Acme? That never worked either!

Ah! but......not everything in the Acme loco range 'never worked' ......that C13 (see photo a few posts back) was one of their's . George (Majestic Models) Dawson did the artwork, I bought the kit rights from Acme and added it to my fledgling Old Originals empire before selling it on to Geoff Stratford at Gladiator. I reckoned that it, along with the A4 were the best models Acme ever had, I built one up and had John Cockcroft paint it in full GC livery....gorgeous:thumbs:

No ...forgot......wayyyyy back when Acme first started Jim McG did some artwork for them for what was their first kit....the LMS/BR 4F.......later Jim got it back from them for his Connoisseur range........bit like family trees these kit sagas.....:)
