Western Thunderer
My large signed print of 'Nine Elms - The Last Hours' has pride of place on my studio wall.

Let's not forget all the great conservation work he did as well though. He was a big big champion of wildlife causes.

My wife and I had the priveledge to work with him back in the 1970s, when the Endangered Species Import and Export Act [1976] was being drafted. He would attend events for no charge, giving freely of his time, and would supply much visual material [even though some of it was quite distressing at times], collected from his various African trips. I remember him being particularly incensed by a giraffe carcass he had seen, from which just the tail had been removed - for use as a fly whisk. There was some colourful language used when he expressed his feelings about it!

A great and sad loss.
