S7 axles for the MMP Class 08

Does any one have a spare set of axles for the MMP Class 08 available, please? Or is my 08 doomed to the doldrums of finescale, forever?

I'm looking for the 'D'-ended outside crank ones. 'yes', I could space the wheels off the shoulders of the FS axles that I have, but then the tapers wouldn't work ...

Thanks

Didn't MMP buy up all the old Slaters' stock?
Try them.

Alcazar;

Didn't I hear somewhere that MMP bought up all the old Slaters' *FS* stock? - as the external crank axles went obsolete?
I'm after the S7 version of these axles, if you have any that you don't want?

Thanks

Ian,
Are the current outside-crank axles available in S7?
In which case Colin (Eastsidepilot) can help; he produced some superb EE-style machined cranks for me which take the newer axles.

Interesting thought, Steph!

I haven't actually asked that question yet - let's see what Phil can find, first...
Otherwise, as you say, my back-up plan is to have a long and meaningful discussion with Colin

Ian... Steph...

The key issue with doing a MMP Cl.08 for S7 is to get an axle that is long enough for the correct B2B... and long enough that the MMP outside cranks clear the hornguides (as I understand Mr. DJP). The "old" Slaters axles worked for 32mm (0-FS), the new ones do not... something to do with overall length of new axle to accomodate the thickness of the new Slater's crank.

There was no "old" axle for S7.

Graham,
Col's machined cranks get round that thorny little issue; I've compared the two axle/crank sets and the clearances are identical...
