S7 Group Mark Meeting 14 October

Rather short notice, I'm afraid – though you were all warned in the Newsletter – but the attractions for the Mark meeting include Ian Roll's 'Pol Sands'. Ian Norman's 'Shingle Street', and a talk by Ian Middleditch on 'Scale7 Locomotive Building My Way'. Definitely not to be missed.

And just to prove you don't have to be named 'Ian', Laurie Griffin will be there with his trade stand so bring your well nourished wallets! The Roundy-Roundy test track will also be there to test-run/show-off your latest masterpiece.

Not wanting to deter anyone but your Newsletter editor will also be in attendance...

Best Beloved and I shall be there. I'm not demonstrating or showing anything, but will have various builds under construction for discussing with clients.

Looking forward to it!

Could someone explain what a "Mark" meeting is, please? Is this the Bury St. Edmunds one?

My Dad was a Mark Master Mason, but I'm sure it's nowt to do with bare legs and chests!

I'm hoping to make it, all being well, with a "mock up" Bow Creek. Not a serious contender for the challenge 33 but the beginnings of an S7 layout all the same.

Sorry Martin. I started the thread in the S7 section and expected it to have an S7 tag. But it doesn't. My bad.

Richard

PS: there are supposed to be Challenge 33 entries there though nobody – Colin apart – has said anything.

PPS: how do you change thread headings?

I thought I had a pretty good knowledge of English geography, having once done a postman's job, but I have never heard of Mark as a place, that's why I asked. Oi've 'eard of Western Zoyland. Moi Oncle lived therr.

Yes Tim, I'll be going to the Bury St. Eds show, it's near-ish where I live now.

It's on the north edge of the Levels on the Highbridge to Wells road, so pretty much the opposite side to Westonzyland. Within the village the VH is located on Vole Road. How rustic can you get?
