Just a reminder that the April meeting for the S7 Group is a week on Saturday at Brightwell-cum-Sotwell (between Didcot and Wallingford, Oxfordshire).
Peter Mann is bringing Merney Junction and if you want to run stock, locos then there is a chance to do it on this layout. It is wired for both DC and DCC.
Ian Roll will be bringing his putative layout, maybe only baseboards but always good to 'chew the fat over'.
There will be a number of demonstrators as well as trade. Unfortunately Laurie Griffin has had to back out as result of a bout of ill health . We send him our best wishes. Laurie says if you want anything then contact him by email or phone. I am currently looking for another trader to replace Laurie but others who will be there are Pat Legg (CPL), Phil Read (C&L/Eileen's) and Colin Dowling.
Also a reminder that if you intend to come and wish for a lunch (yes, despite everything they are being served again this year) please contact me by the end of Wednesday 8th April as we will be doing the shopping on the Thursday. Telephone 05601 736311/ email robm.thompson "@" btinternet.com.

The gathering is open to any 7mm modeller, Guild members especially welcome.

All details in the February issue of S7 Newsletter. Also details on S7 website and the Guild website (this needs updating).

Hope to see you end of next week.

I had a delivery today of my long-awaited ABC bogie for D6313. This loco spent some time based at Swansea East Dock in the early '60s being evaluated on local freight and passenger services. This allocation seems to have been totally undocumented (Rule 1 is being applied here!). A JLTRT NB Type 2 kit could now be a little closer to getting built. I hope to have the chance to give the bogie a test run on Saturday.
See you there!

Nor me I'm afraid.... Baby sitting duties.

Though I keep getting told it's not baby-sitting if it's your own child, hmmmm...

Well, that was a thoroughly enjoyable day out. A big thank you to Rob and April for the organising and catering.

Embarrassingly I forgot to take any pictures. I blame it on nattering all day!

And my thanks to Rob and April, too. I had a great day out, what with chatting, meeting folks, and a fab lunch.

Good job, guys!

It was indeed a good day out. Nice to catch up with everybody and highlight of the day for me was seeing Heather's CCT for real. I want one....

Good to see Ian R's start of a shunting plank.
Absolutely! Well-made baseboards and a solid underframe too. It has the great virtue of less-is-more - avoiding the temptation to cover the boards with track. Ian also has a clear idea of the back-story too.

We await photos and the start of the build thread. Ian! IAN!

Yep, me too Heather, thanks again Rob, and it was good to catch up with the rest of you Guy's
