What a busy meeting!!!! So many new faces... and several visitors were from the 7mm 0-FS side of the fence, good that both "scale 7mm" factions can get together in this way.

Thank you Rob for organising this meeting.

regards, Prof S7 Barking

Heather, love the Mk.1 and Mk.2 coaches. I shall be really pleased to see your thread on a MMP RMB...

... circa 1980s, dual-heat, dual-brake...
... with self-adjusting brake gear...
... equalised brake gear...
... lots and lots of air-pipes.

Boy, I do hope that Bob is going to enjoy the progress

I think it is possible that Blue diesels out numbered kettles today.

I enjoyed meeting many people today and finding some had traveled from afar, as scale 7 is not supported in many places in the country, picked up many castings for my G6 & my Bettie looking forward to the next one, but I won't go over to the dark side.

A brilliant day. Nice to see so many new faces, though we didn't all get to speak. Thanks must go to Rob's good lady wife, April for organising the catering again. A superb job she does, too.

I took loads of photos. I've got to process them and sort them out. You'll get to see them sometime tomorrow, once I've recovered. :D

+1 from me Heather, I had a good look at our coaches and may I say how lovely they are. Apologies for not saying hello to you and others who I didn't speak to but the day was so busy with lots to see and do. A great day which I will be attending again

Sweet talker!

Odd how I find I like to wind down after such an event, taking a bunch of photos, nattering for hours, then driving home in torrential rain, by sitting at my pooter and processing the images!

Here are the highlights. I'll work out a better place to put them later. Anyone who chatted with me and wants copies of the photos I took of their stock, etc, please drop me a line. I have a terrible face for names.

A pair of lovely 30ft 6-wheelers arrived first in the "igloo".

_MG_2973.jpg

Colin D (EastSidePilot) brought one of the three LNWR A Class goods engines along. Very nice it looked, too.

_MG_2996.jpg

Richard Carr isn't above building his own coaching stock. Here's his Mk1 BG, looking suitably careworn.

_MG_3000.jpg

EE Class 40 40 058 from Mr Carr showed off its sound capabilities on the Love Lane layout-under-construction. I like the scuffed kick plate under the door. Nicely observed.

_MG_3004.jpg

EE Class 37 37 065 was also brought along by Mr C. He had a whole table of Corporate Blue period models, which got a lot of people talking.

_MG_3007.jpg

A Bachmann Class 03 in company with a scruffy Grampus was brought by Phil (Brush Type 4). Apart from reprofiled wheels, it's pretty much out of the box - it just needs the arrows of indecision, TOPS number and a bit of scruffiness to complete.

I did get some nice shots of the Mk1s and 2s I've built for Richard, which he's since lettered and added some nicely subtle weathering to. I'll probably post those in my gallery thread - once I've weeded out the ones where I failed to get all the wheels on the rails!:oops:

Agree with all of you, a really good day and great to catch up with those I spoke to, apologies to those I missed.
I believe the interest in S7 is increasing judging by recent recruits at Ally Pally and gaining a new customer moving up from 4mm scale at Brightwell today.
Good meeting Rob and April, thanks. Looking forward to next year's meet.

They did indeed look excellent (as did all the other blue era stuff on Richard Carr's table) and I really fancy doing a JLTRT Mk2 myself as a future project. :) I'm also looking forward to the MMP RMB build Heather.

A big thank you to David Rayner for showing me how he draws chairs for 3D printing, as I have a couple of GWR examples to do for a current project.

Thanks also to Simon (Thompson?), for the crash course in Alibre 3D software. I have this on my PC, but struggled to actually get anything drawn, as it's so different from TurboCAD. I now feel inspired to have another look at it soon. By the way, if Simon's not a member on here, he should be!

Indeed, a pleasant day out and now finally a member of the S7 club, met some new people and put a few more faces to names but never got round to chatting to all sadly, loads of ideas for new projects and some really nice models to look at as well.

Had a great day yesterday, it was a shame that I never spoke to a few people but good to put faces to names. Must say thanks to Kenneth Cottle on advice for my lathe. Can't wait for next year.

Thanks to all for their comments, much appreciated. Great to see so many people there from the 7mm world and all talking together. Sorry I didn't get more chance to get round and talk to people but organising is a bit like that.

Many thanks to all who brought stuff to show and be photographed by Heather in her fold up studio - thanks Heather -, Colin and Tim for Love Lane, Richard C. for the blue period stuff, Mick Roffe for the wagons, David Rayner and Simon Thompson for the 3D drawing aids, Ken Cottle for the technical stuff, Alan Benson and David Nicholson for the track building and of course Paul Stokes and Ron Pitts for all things S7. Also thanks to the traders, Pat Legg, Len Newman and Helen Pisanis (watch out for the new C&L ordering method), Laurie Griffin and, not least because he wasn't there, Peter Hunt who managed yet again to get stuff brought by others to the show for sale.

Now for the sales bit - put next year's date in the diary now, start negotiating with the authorities for that day out and remember it is on 12th April 2014.
