Thanks JB but need one permanently here really, as just never know when I'll need it.

It's about time I bought one.

Thanks Richard! I now have long term loan of a GW rivet press.

The front footplate is going to need some serious fettling..... Or cutting from scratch though :headbang:

On another note though, just got this through from eBay for £16! Will give it a try soon.

Well done JB.

Frustrating, though. When I ask ebay to find Reifler Drawing equipment it comes up with no results! I'm looking at a Kern set now, though.

Brian

PS - it would have helped if I'd spelled it correctly. Just put in Riefler and got a result. Must remember i before e except after c - often!!

Alternatively you could use Fat Fingers Fat Fingers

This site searches ebay for your search term including variations on spellings, because it's not just you that can get it wrong, those posting the ads don't always get it right either. I've picked up a couple of bargains because the original advert had a spelling mistake in it so it didn't get much attention and nobody to out bid me.

Searching Fat Fingers with Reifler returns plenty of results.

I must admit, after Warrens recommendation I was surprised to find one at £25! Well, it was £25 and then the seller reduced it a few times...

Further on the B2 and yes the kit really is starting to show its age now. Half etches for valances are well over sized, curves on foot plates and cab don't match etc etc... Not quite putting it back in the box yet, though the shelf queen N7's are screaming 'finish me first!'.

Springing the bogie.

I'd like to have had it pretty much done tonight but the kit fought back! The holes for the Slaters square axleboxes were well oversized and needed filling by 1mm which was a complete pain and took well over an hour. To be fair to the kit though the supplied bearings were the correct size.

And then the frame material is far too thick so had to absolutely muller the axleboxes to get easy movement of one side of the axle down and the other side up.

The sides need to be snapped off of the central transom so that the frames can be widened by around 5mm!

I was going to clean all the solder up until I decided to stick a 10a blade into my thumb!
