Ex.North Eastern non-corridor's ended up in Manchester district running with Gresley and GCR stock, but I would say the cut off point would be around 1955-6 when so much exotic pre-grouping' got withdrawn. A good many 'lingerers' retained LNER 'brown' but with BR markings.

I have a book that give's running numbers and withdrawl dates, however it's leant out to a friend at the moment, if you give me a week or two I should have it back and will pass on the information. I agree with Larry that most went around 55, but there where somtimes a few lingers on.

Just about to start cleaning the NE coach, ready for spraying tomorrow and I need to grab a can of Halfords.
Now the list of Halfords colours vs GER Brown isn't on the list of course. I have noticed that there is an option for LBSC Umber, and I wonder if this might be a 'close enough' match. I can adjust slightly once I get to an airbrush next week, but I want to get a coat of colour on it before I return from Norfolk.
Anybody have any ideas or thoughts?

The brown could be a little more yellow, but it'll do for a base coat before a waft of something closer to the correct colour. And then some judicious weathering to try and bring out the paneling litre more..
The roof hasn't come out to my liking at all, so think a layer of soot should hide the imperfections.
What's next? I have some freshly chemically blackened figures to paint. Going to try very thin washes of blue Matt enamel to try and give a subtly to the colour of the overalls.

Nice coaches by the way JB, lightley brushed black weathering powder on figures works well for making them look grubby.
