This seems to be an issue with iPads and iPhones for some reason. When I snap images from the iPad with the home button to the left the image will upload inverted. I've got into the habit of taking shots with the home button to the right which stops the forum software being confused.

Alternatively, a simple edit in Photos or iPhoto, even just rotating the image one direction four times, essentially spinning it one revolution, seems to reset any orientation EXIF data and makes the forum happy.

Am I going mad ! as you may know I have built four 7mm Sea lions and moaned about the kit being so old that had I known I would not have bought them WELL. I bought a Walrus kit this time the product says it very old and is not slot and tab. Fine I know what I'm buying it wasn't cheap £80 and yes its old fashioned but there are some very nice new casting. So the kit has been updated. There are a couple of things wrong there is no inner body but I can make that from plastic card as you have to with the old RJH Sea lions. I can also sort out the discharge units. BUT then I looked at the drawing in the kit that shows you where every thing goes ! The inside should be 27ft 6in 192.5mm but is 183mm and the overall length should be 32ft 6in 227.5mm and is 222mm. This tells me that this was a 4mm kit blown up to 7mm. So it was wrong in 4mm its now twice as wrong. I GIVE UP.

And no amount of sideways photos will fix the problems. Good to see you haven't been afflicted with the "I won't be losing any sleep over ....." disease which seems to be spreading through the hobby, even MRJ has been promoting the building of models which look nice but are fundamentally inaccurate. Personally I don't mind what people build for themselves but am frustrated by kits and rtr models that could be correct just as easily as incorrect - the difference is only in getting and interpreting the correct information before going into production.

Only the same one that's in the kit. But the question is if that drawing is in the kit was it not the drawing used to make the kit! and if not ! you get my drift Simon.

Ok Simon you got me thinking so I pulled out the instructions for the first kits I built and looked at the Drg in that and yes its the same even the wagon number is the same. The one in the NMRS kit says 25ft 6in and 32ft 6in. So they agree on the length but not the hopper. The drawing has Prestige 7 on it! does anybody if I can get a set of drawings.

Pete,
I took a look at the Barrowmore MRG website where they have copies of the BR Diagram books. The Walrus and its developments are all shown with a length over headstock of 9.906m (32ft6in) and the inside of the hoppers are shown at 8.382m (27ft6in). Bogies centres are 7.010m(23ft) and I hope that this measurement doesn't open another can of worms.

Thanks Simon I've now got all the drawings and the Sea Lions YG 500B/H, BR 590/591 are Inside 8.382 and 10.312 over the Headstocks. The Walrus YG500C/F BR 585/S1775 is 8.382 and 9.906 over Headstocks. So now I know none of the kits are right ! are well
