Slater's Plastikard

Hi all. Just been to Slater's to buy some wheels for my next project. They've had a major disaster, a water main has burst in their building causing much damage. David White was kind enough to dig me out what I needed (it's a bit water damaged, but still usable!) Most of their stock has been ruined, as well as their computer systems, including broadband, and their telephone systems have only just been restored. Their office, and records have also been trashed. I think a bit of patience is required from us all for a month or two until they get back on their feet.

I can't have been the only person who was thinking that? Joking apart though, let's hope it won't be too much of a setback for Slater's - we'd be lost without them!

For information, this is a crossposting of a message I put onto the GOG forum this morning.

I have spoken to David White at Slater's this morning wearing my Guild President hat.
The insurers are already on the case.
Considerable damage has been done as a result of overpressure in the main water supply.

As of 9am today, Slater's have internet and email back online.
They are now able to print labels and some mail orders will be going out today.
Feel free to order as usual, but do bear in mind that service will be a little slower than usual for the next week or so.
Thereafter David is confident that the usual efficient service will be resumed.

I did ask if the Guild could provide any assistance, but David and the rest of the folk at Slater's have it under control.
