I've just got my newsletter through and I must say how great this one is. IMHO one o the best in recent times. Loads of inspirational stuff, a lovely bit on Adrian's J65 and a cracking five pager on Monks Eleigh. Incidentally I was lucky enough to pick up a full run of MRJ recently and thoroughly enjoyed reading about the building of this layout, great to see some updated colour pictures,

Oh sh*t! I wonder how many more of those slipped through. Ask Ron for another copy as you of all people should have the right pagination.

No need. All other pages were present and correct. Just this spread slipped in again. I parted it with a scalpel and it's now heading for recycling.

I don't know if Monks Eleigh is portable, but it would lovely to see that at Brightwell.....

Excellent S7 newsletter, by the way!

Thanks Dan. AFAIK Monks Eleigh is not portable (Heather would know better than I) but yes it would be great to see it at Brightwell, or anywhere for that matter. Meanwhile we have Heather's excellent photos to drool over...

I think the layout is transportable, but it's not an exhibition layout in the strictest sense. I think its current home is meant to be permanent.

That's a shame - having seen Hursley for all of five minutes at the MRJ exhibition, it would have been nice to have seen Martyn Welch's second creation as well.

Great pictures too Heather - could they be possibly be posted on the forum, for the benefit of non-S7 Group members?

I have never been lucky enough to see either layout in the flesh but as mentioned at the beginning I picked up some old MRJ's and one has a pull out poster of Hursley, now that will be framed and put on the wall ( a series of smileys would now be appropriate but I can't remember all the bits to make them on the I phone) Whilst on the subject it seems SWMBO will stamp my pass for Brightwell if I bring my eldest who will be five by then, having never been before is it appropriate for youngsters ?

It might be a little bit boring for your youngest. Lots of grownups wittering on about stuff, and only a couple of trainsets to see.

If Richard K is okay with me posting some images, I'll stick 'em in the gallery forum at some point. Those images that made the cut for publication are only a tiny proportion of those I took on the day. ;)

Thanks for the tip Heather, Grandma may have to come to the rescue then as I plan to be one of those wittering grown ups !! +1 for the photos BTW,

According to Michael Brooks the layout is fixed in a permanent home and would probably cause too much disruption to the layout as it is not designed for exhibition.

Excellent photo's by Heather.
Ade's J65 is superb I thought.

How about bringing down some of those PO wagons for display and discussion at Brightwell.
