Photo St Pancras, Kings Cross 1989-1990

Some speculative googling this morning brought up this rather fine image of St Pancras. While there's part of my brain that tells me 1989 can't be that long ago another part has done the maths and is rather shocked that I can hold two contradictory views of time. Logic wins out as 1989 looks very different to today; then it looked like a set for the Sweeney, now it's more like a setting for some hi-tech euro-spy thriller. Looking through the particular gallery the St Pancras shot comes from there are a sprinkling of photos where the railway takes centre stage but the others are worth a look too as they give a terrific flavour of the time and place.
