DCC Stay Alives with Loksound Decoders

I was installing a new decoder in my Clayton yesterday, it was a fairly recent purchase and my Lok programmer software wouldn't read it saying that I needed to install the latest version of the software. The latest one is 4.4.20.

So 30 minutes later with the new software installed, I noticed a new item in the options,

disable aux 6

It says that aux 6 must be disabled to allow solder attached stay alives to function correctly, so if any of you out there have them on your Loksound decoders (Loksound XL decoders have them built in) you need to disable AUX 6 if it isn't already.

Thank you Richard, very interesting.

The software upgrade was for the Lokprogrammer or for the Loksound decoder?

The upgrade is for the Lok Programmer software. It also appears to be much more stable than the earlier versions.

I haven't checked any "older" decoders yet only 1 I bought very recently so it is possible there is a firmware upgrade for the decoders too.

Hi Richard,

That's really helpful, and will hopefully be useful for people who have had issues with their 'stay alives' not functioning properly.

Could I ask if the upgrade has changed the sound profile section at all - as I've always found the V4 version less straight forward to use than the older (more user friendly) V3 version ??

Thanks

Mike

Mike,
All the problems I've uncovered with keep alive have been down to people not setting CV29 for digital - only operation. Another undocumented 'feature'.
