Telford Steam Railway - Lawley is open for business

Hi all, for fans of 5619 - I saw part of a repeated "Heartbeat" on ITV3 at lunchtime (Tuesday 1 Oct) and towards the end there are several scenes using 5619 (at least it looked like that under a coat of artistic grime) - the same episode is on again early evening so might be of interest to some.

Best Regards

Sandy

We called the paramedics but it was too late for them :( More cream and yellow to go and plenty of red needed on the bufferbeam. At least it isn't another green unit :p

Well a manic set of Santa weekends saw us raise over £5k towards getting our Pecket 0-4-0ST 'Rocket' back from Tyseley. Only a few days off for the wicked then we were all down the line to collect the mermaids and LMS flats to bring back to the yard. Here's some pics of the day and you can see the work needed to get this section back up to operational spec. Hopefully, fingers crossed, we'll have permission early next year to run north to Lawley and south down this stretch to Doseley. Enjoy :)

Stop it..... :p
No disrespect to all '+1' ers, but I think this place is genuinely capable of living by the 'Like' or 'Write' rule, what with most of us being / claiming /pretending* to be adults and all :)

*delete as applicable.
I make no such claim :)
But I am older than 12, or do we get start the 'first' wars as well?
I am grumpy today, sorry.

The shunter in the pics 'Tom' was having it's test run after being out of service for 20 years. It's staying black for now but the owner is 98% certain that it's going 'ScotRail' livery next lmao  Now that I'd help to bring about :p

After a very convoluted boiler overhaul our Peckett 0-4-0 saddle tank 'Rocket' has finally returned home. It's now safely in the shed having it's final fitting out ready for our new season which starts this Easter. We can now start to advertise that we have a working steam loco again which will be a significant boost to our revenues, especially from our driver experience course. The funny thing is that when we have a working kettle our diesel driving courses also enjoy a surge in candidates

So if any of you fancy driving a diesel shunter, 2ft narrow gauge steam tram or Rocket then don't hesitate to contact me for full details. We have loads of projects to spend the money on including our desperately needed shed and our GWR autocoach:p
