I spent many an hour back in the mid 90's helping build the ground level track at Summerfields in particular the terminus - lots of barrows of earth moved.
Probably see some of my brickwork on the turntable well capping in the last pic ;)

Had a great time, good in the good company of Rob (lancer) Phill Dyson who travelled down with me in the Allegro, which incidently never missed a beat and performed very well:D... The weather also was fantastic which always makes long journeys much more pleasant.. Saturday evening we met up with Phil (Brush type4) who was staying in the same hotel as the 3 of us. We had a couple of drinks at the Railwaymans Arms @ Bridgnorth Station then went for a curry at Dilraz, this combined with a trip to Richards straight after the show on Saturday to see Heyside running and 2 great days at the show made for a fantastic weekend....

Had a great couple of days. Was disappointed that the Blue diesel brigade were low in layout numbers, but that meant lots of activity for us on Bridge Norton.... Tried to keep the kids involved by forcing inviting them to do the driving...... they just kept coming back for more!

Anyway, great to see a good number of WT's, and thanks to all who supported us (and the WLA) with the raffle tickets purchases! Hope you all got some good bargains.... I ended up with, then without (!) 2 x ABC Motor Bogies which Rob's giving a trial - hope to see them running in Buccaneer soon! (Pics Please!)Also succumbed to a Heljan 33 to tinker with for a bit of a change.

Did anyone see the guy with the Gauge 1 Western he wanted doing up..... I'd like to contact him if at all possible.

Here's a few pics of BN in action..... sorry I didn't get time to attend the meets, or get around the rest of the show for that matter!

Once again, a great weekend was had. Nice to catch up with people at Saturday's WT meeting and a big thank you to Richard and Linda for their hospitality on Saturday evening's Heyside "party". Also a big thumbs-up to Mike for letting me play with his A3 on said layout!

OC Blue Brigade
Well for me it was a bit of a washout with missing Saturday (next year the A/L is going in early Jan), so I could only manage Sunday. I got what I wanted loads of Wheels, 10 Big Bigs a few other little things and 4 Skytrex wagons at £30 each!!!! bargain. Nice to see all of the old faces again with a few being a little more sober than last year. I seemed to wander through the isles this year with very little to interest me both in the layout dept and in the in the traders. We, Marsa and John(Dennis with the BLUE fire engine) and myself had a little maintenance session when we got back and did a little bit of running using the new main line and it was great to see 2 trains running at the same time even though one of the was a Tea Urn. Ho Hum back to it.

I must make a serious public apology to Phill for my earlier gaff in my e-mail. I realise that my posting can be taken entirely out of its intended context. I have retracted it entirely - sorry Phill. I'd intended jest with Rob/Ross over circumstances only......

My humblest of apologies.

Sorry mate. I'm such a Noob.

First of all I must say a big thank you to Willy for keeping me company in what is usually a very boring 4 hour journey ( each way ) to Telford, and if you want to repeat the trip next year your more than welcome . Much rolling stock was then purchased for the coming winter months in readiness for the start of my planned layout, at last.

And last but not least a big thank you to Richard and his lovely wife Linda for the most enjoyable of evenings which included Linda's delicious food and rounded off with an operating session on Heyside which gets better each year, the only downside was the fact I felt a weird yearning towards one of those diesel thingy  hopefully this feeling will pass.

And all the best to the rest of the chaps, Tony, Dan, Mike and the rest of the crew for putting up with all my questions.

Martyn.

I think it is I who should thank you Martyn for your very generous offer of a lift and I will make every effort to repeat the experience next year.

Give in to your diesel thingy yearning. I did this weekend and I love it!

It was great to see everyone again, and I only spent £22 more than planned ( although I had planned to spend rather a lot!). It gets very difficult to make progress round the show as I bump in to so many people to chat to!

Best bit for me... the MOK Flying Pig pre prod cab and chassis - oh! and of course Ross's Allegro! What's annoying is, is that it make my 12 year old BM look a right rustbucket!

Cheers

I had a very enjoyable Telford, (other than having to restrict my main buying until I found out how much the repairs to the laptop were going to cost me) I bought a couple of Fruit Ds - 1 from JLTRT and 1 from WEP to compare finish/riding etc and this rather nice

IMG_3560.JPG

ex LMS 42'GUV (a Westdale Kit perhaps) from the Bring & Buy - it just needed numbering etc. sadly. it did not have a box with it, but fortunately, the cardboard box that my Parkwood loco stockbox came in, fitted the bill well.

Having had the quote for the laptop repairs I was able to order an MOK Standard 4MT 2-6-0, ABC Maxon motor& gearbox, a set of JPL turned wheels and a Zimo control chip - so the workbench will be well used in the coming months - sadly when I came to check the contents of the MOK box which arrived at 07.30 the day after ordering, there were two sprues missing, but a phone call to Dave Sharp has requested the replacement - more to follow in due course.

Seems that all those who got to Telford had a good time.

cheers

Mike
