Its a lovely spot for sure.
If you didn't like trackwork you could always model Thornham Staithe at high tide - a nice flat baseboard made from glass :D

Forgot to mention that locally it's called Thornham Harbour. A rather grandiose name for a muddy creek at least half a mile from the open sea.

Not just North Norfolk.
One damp March Saturday we took some visitors for a 5 mile walk across the marshes from Cantley (where we'd parked at the station) to visit the Berney Arms pub - only accessible by foot, boat or train.
It was desperately hard going and we lost a lot of time, so had to get a real move on the last 20 minutes to beat closing time.

We made it over the railway line by Berney Arms station and up to the door - upon which was a sign proclaiming RE-OPENING 17TH APRIL.
Distraught at the prospect of the struggle back I suddenly heard the horn of a distant DMU, so we ran like heck and made the empty train - which just happened to be going the right way back to Cantley.

I can honestly say that is the only time I've been pleased to see a DMU :D
