Threadmarks

One more update to rollout is a new feature called threadmarks, this is a feature which allows the thread creator or moderators to create an index on a thread. This can help with long threads to navigate to specific parts of a thread.

The easiest way to explain I think is to provide an example, I hope Tony doesn't mind but with the number of interesting loco builds in his thread it was an ideal subject to demonstrate. So if you have a look at his build thread.

7mm - The Derby Line - MOK SR Q1

If you have a look at the top of any page after the page number navigation you should now see a threadmark label with a little down arrow.

If you click on this you should get either a drop down list

or a pop up dialog

This is an index of various loco builds, if you click on one of the titles it will take you directly to that post. So for example the Finney V2 [the observant among you may have noticed I've now corrected this to the Finny7 V2!] at the top of the post it has a small tag to show that it has been threadmarked.

So for any thread creators that want to add this to their thread you can do this as you add a new post by adding some text in the threadmark label.

Alternatively if you go back through previous posts there should be a link at the bottom of the posts which allows you to add a threadmark.

If you think a thread would benefit from indexing in this manner then first port of call should be the thread owner, otherwise please use the report button to request indexing. However please don't bombard me with requests just yet as I'm not going to provide a personal indexing service and I've got another feature to rollout soon for individual bookmarks.
