Thanks very much Ian

Having packed an order and collected more stuff together this morning I walked over to the shop. After a gentle start including two minutes contemplation at 11.00, I got busy. All bookshelves finally levelled up and secured, the "slatwall" card display finally arrived and was fixed to wall as was newly created notice board. George arrived and started processing more stock onto his clever system, all Wild Swan stock was unpacked and put out, delivery from Kevin Robertson, Clive Luhrs, and 13 boxes  of extra Oakwood stock arrived. Still ferrying stock from the house, I will pack up some more in a minute or two before crashing for the night.

Here are some dodgy shots of today's preparations:

Hi Simon,

It's looking good!  I should be over to see you Saturday (I already have something of a list worked out).  Are my GWRJs in that Wild Swan box you mentioned?  ;D  ;)

It'll be good to meet you (and others of this parish) and match faces and names...

I hope the shop is big enough for all of us   :)) I should be down between 10.30 and 11 and my wife is off shopping so I would imagine I should be leaving about 3.30ish ........ on Monday  :)) I will probably bring a Hymek, the MMP tank and a Lionheart 16t mineral and if anybody is interested I could pop a Cordon and GW horsebox in the car

Hi Simon, been ridiculously busy of late but hoping to get over saturday afternoon to wish you well with your new venture. I'm sure it will be a great success - it has all the makings of a great little shop. Will you be stocking any 2FS bits or will it all be that funny big stuff you play with now...... ;D

cheers Jerry

Cynric,
'Show and tell' too eh?  I'd be interested in seeing the 16tonner and horsebox, but I'm not sure of my ETA yet.  I've not got anything here that's complete at the moment, but might shove the 'Continental' and 11001 (i.e. two infamous ones) in a bag...

The only fully complete items I have are RTR  :-[ maybe there is a message there  ;)
!6tonner is in, as it the tank, a couple of  horseboxes, and a broad gauge tilt wagon and a Hymek.
Simon, do I need to bring a folding chair?

Funny that, I had you more in mind as a shooting stick kinda chap rather than a folding chair.  But I suppose I can't be right about everything...

Cynric,

Got that;  if I look for the guy with the patio furniture, and you look for the tw*t in the hat we're sure to just miss each other...

It appears I'm the first one back; although I didn't have too far to travel...

For those who weren't there I can assure you it's a lovely little shop, with very impressive stock and a friendly atmosphere.  It was great to be able to pick up a couple of the books and magazines I've been after for a while and also to meet some of the 'names' from this forum.

Cynric, thanks for bringing the horseboxes and your superb MMP tank wagon, all were a delight to see.

Im a little hoarse, but a good time was had. A really nice selection of books ( i managed to get three new releases) and the shop seemed to be packed all day. I put more names to faces, although I was rather taken with Cookie standing next to Neal, a combination which led me to blurt out 'ah, Cookie, your shorter than I expected!'
Steph had a lovely scratchbuilt 'Continental' coach, (if we ask him nicely im sure he will post a shot) and Simon had his D63xx in the window. If you are in the area its well worth a visit
The good Captain has some photos, which I am sure he will post in the next day or two
