Got a mate of mine with more projects than remaining life span, looking for competent loco builder to assemble Mercian Models Class 14 'Teddy Bear" loco kit to running standard.

Thoughts, ideas, recommendations....... All welcome & will forward on to my mate.

    Thanks in anticipation

If your mate is the same person as my mate(!) then I am on with the class 14 now. To give you an idea of the kit, when I was in the land of employment I was told that there were never problems only CHALLENGES. The kit is certainly a challenge but I have to hand photos of the full size one at Embsay to refer to. I have only recently joined Western Thunder on the recommendation of my customer and am amazed at the amount of subjects. Regards to all, Robert

Welcome aboard. I too am amazed and thankful that people take the time to post their work. It is very much what we make of it so a few posts as you progress through the build would be appreciated.

Your model looks good I hope mine turns out the same. One problem I,m having is forming the bonnets as the brass has needed annealing but my customer milled some 1mm formers for me which has helped. Also, and maybe I expect too much of the kit, the cab, as it comes out of the box, is too wide over the footplate! After all, however, kits are only an aid to scratch building but I will persevere. Regards Robert

Hi chaps. I don't know whether these are of any help, but am attaching them for what they are worth. In particular the one at Old Oak is poor, but may still show some cab detail.

As usual these are all my copyright.
