What projects do you have for 2010?

Hi Chaps

I'm aiming to get my JLTRT Western finished this year!

Other projects jostling for time and space on my kitchen table include my JLTRT/Mitchell Castle, Slater's PMV and several other Slater's BR wagons.
As if this wasn't enough, I have recently acquired an MMP BR Mk1 BCK and a Chris Hillier (Hurn Models), Hawksworth Full Brake.

I don't know if I'll actually finish any of the above projects in 2010 (apart from the Western), but I'm going to have fun trying!

I will finish my Class 14 (he says... there's only 11 months of the year left   ) and I need to do a bit of work on my rolling stock, most of which I've got second hand so there's odd things like brake gear and seized buffers to repair. I have an Ex-GWR Toad (Lima) and a BR Standard Brake Van (Slaters) both at the "nearly finished" stage...
... then there's my US (or "Dark Side" ) stuff to do as well.... so much to do, so little time... and so many Forums too!! :p

The class 14 should be good when it is finished i could quite fancy one myself.
Im hoping the Western will be a 'quick build' as Dan has done the hard work in figuring out most of the essential mods

Well if the Dapol 22 arrives this year I'll be doing a few in suitably weathered condition c1970, I just hope they get all the detail differences right after sending them all the info and a disc full of photos!

Nidge ;)

I don't know about finishing them in 2010  , but here are a few of mine :

1 Westdale Bubble Car (BFYE)
2 Ian Kirk Gresley Buffet (Blue/Grey circa 1970's)
3 a rake of 6 wheel milk tanks
4 Various MK1's
5 more MK11's
6 Westdale GUV
7 Steve Beattie Class 24 (I would like to convert it to a 25/1 :? )

In the spring I will be definitely doing more work on my terminus , fiddle yard & building a viaduct.

Cheers Phill :)

It seems to be the year of the 22 with Dapol and JLTRT due to bring one out. I dont know much about Dapol but I have an N gauge Hymek and its very nice.
I vaguely remember the bubble car maybe you should refresh our minds with a picture? :D I would mind a bubble car myself, or a 117.....
Is the viaduct to access the terminus?

This is the one, I'm afraid the rather nice green livery is now in primer, I have got all the missing bits for it now, so I just need a bit of spare time to get on with it ;)
The viaduct will be removable & will be about 6 feet before the entrance to the fiddle yard .

Cheers Phill

4. 3rd and final motorail flat
5.Westdale GUV

I have an MMP 08 in the 'reserve' I may well get some cranks cast as I loathe filing and sanding laminations, still must not grumble as the kit is excellent and costs under ?200 with wheels.

Its amazing how much concrete you need for a shed base, are you going to mix it yourself or get readymix?

You got it.....  :headbang:

Though with the warmer weather I've been getting the paints out... did all the white bits on my BR Brake van this week, so it's a little bit more "nearly finished" than it was in January  and I've started painting my GP40 Ex-Milwaukee Bandit, and built the baseboard for a new small O scale layout following a successful Trent Valley Show this month, but that's Dark Side stuff "certain members" won't want to know about :p

My Class 14 project is still on the back-burner a bit for now, awaiting parts... (well that's my excuse  ...)

this thread is a good way of listing/realising just what I do have in the workshop - tucked away in various places and probably still incomplete, but here goes:

Agenoria Hawthorne Leslie 0-6-2t Earl of Mount Edgcomb - chassis complete, body 75% complete and current project on workbench
Agenoria Hawthorne Leslie 0-6-0t A S Harris - unopened except that the wheels and motor/gearbox are now in there as well
David Andrews rebuilt West Country 34014 Budleigh Salterton - tender complete and primed, chassis complete and working, body to do
Modern Outline Kits Q1 0-6-0 - just delivered this morning
Peter Clark Class 419 MLV - unopened except that the wheels and ABC Traction motors are now in there as well
Sidelines dia D2046 Inspection Saloon - unopened
Scrathbuilding GWR rebuilt 31xx (smaller drivers) - chassis working but not complete, body only just underway
Rebuilding a plasticard bodied Southern 0-6-0t - new motor fitted in chassis and running, body not started
Bogie Bolster E - body folded up and waiting for solebars to be fitted

Crofton CCE Depot - track ballasted, waiting for some inspiration for the viaduct to come my way at Halifax - installing DCC later this year

and also need the Engineer's wagons etc for the layout.

So I think all in all, I'm just the same as most other folk on this forum

Hi

Out of embarrassment, I am declining to list my outstanding workbench projects. Suffice it to say most model shops don't carry the O gauge stock I have

However, I am working to a 2 year plan (6 months into it), culminating in the first public showing of the layout. To that end, I have the following locos on the bench:

These are 'must do' (with details on my RMweb thread)

L&Y saddle tank 0-6-0 Chowbent
L&Y Aspinall A 0-6-0 tender loco Chowbent
2-6-0 Crab Chowbent
2-6-4T Fairburn Laurie Griffin/Sanspareil castings with a few DJH etches

and these are 'would be nice to have ready'

8F MOK
Black 5 Laurie Griffin/Sanspareil castings with a few Oakville etches

As well as lots of signalling and scenery to do. Even now, time is the enemy.

Cheers

Richard

Well the Western is 3/4 done, the 14xx is progressing, and the auto trailer is nowhere :D
Im glad the Warship wont be out in September  I really don't need anymore kits, in fact it think its time to flog a few that I am never likely to build to new homes.
I do fancy another Western though

Phill Dyson

Oooh, an SB Class 22  Are you having one of his promised "new/improved" ones, or do I take it from the :vista: :vista: :vista: that you've plumped for the existing kit..?!?
Well if so, you know what to expect, mate :? Don't forget to re-position those grilles..!!!
