Having just checked what I wrote last january, I hate to say the list is the same.
1. Finish class 120
2. Do something about point and signal control.

Now for 2011 is to finish the trackwork and electrics and to acquire a class 142 Pacer in GMPTE livery. A 'brucie' bonus would be a JLTRT 37. :eek: best start saving then,

Well at least I got one of them right :D And for the 37 I did get a Heljan Cl20, a Tower models Cl20 kit and a Bachmann 03! That sort of adds up to 37 I would say :p

For 2012 I'm going to predict something modest. Finally finish the layout electrics (you listening John?), save up for a Heljan Cl31, finish painting my civ eng wagons and start & complete a brass kit for the first time. I can choose between my PRMRP shark brake, Connoisseur 24t brake or a GJH Plant 'Super' GUV? I do have 2 x MMP 'Catfish' but I think I'll leave them for a bit, say 10 years?

regards,

Mark

PS And more research into Bolton Great Moor Street station

Well, back then I said:

Just like everyone else I've got loads of stuff to finish off too:
Bulleid 11001 research at the NRM, then I can give it some brake gear, plumbing and a proper cab interior.
'Continental' coach. With the last couple of construction conundrums sorted I can now get this complete.
'Ironside' from the Agenoria kit; I've had the chassis running for ages and now need to find the time to get the bodywork built. In theory it's required for a show in October.
The chassis for the Springside 2251 also needs completing. It can then serve as a reference/testbed for all our future 0-6-0s.

Patterns for various Southern-related parts; including inside valvegear components for Drummond locos and a couple of other things I have up my sleeves.

And then there's a new project, which will take up most of the year. The area we're modelling would see most of its services operated by 'U' class 2-6-0s, so I'll be building a batch of three from the David Andrews kits. Then, hopefully, a test etch for a 'Rebuilt River' followed up with the couple of those we need for the layout.

Busy? Yes..... ::)

Did the 11001 research and baffled myself completely - it's been nine months yet and I still haven't worked out how to complete the s*dding brakegear - it looks as though Ashford probably knitted it...
Continental - ready for roof detail and paint.
Ironside - running chassis is still running but I'm no further with the bodywork. ESU updating the LokSound decoder family imposed a bit of a holding pattern here.
2251 chassis complete and, as such, has served its purpose. I still need to get it finished and painted though.

Two sets of valvegar patterns were made - one set broke up on spruing, the second would have been a pain to cast. I have a couple of tricks left up my sleeve, so they'll be done within the first half of 2012.

Still waiting for the test etch to arrive, but I have made a gentle rolling start with the 'U' 2-6-0s. New patterns for the brakegear are required, but other than that I now have most of the parts to hand.

In addition I've built a couple of Parkside wagons, worked up how to get working inside motion in a pair of M7 0-4-4Ts (and started making the parts) and am a significant way through an undefined number of carriages. I also got some of the HO sorted with the SSW GP7 being very nearly finished and the FP7A in bits ready for a rainy day. I'll also have a new demo chassis to make up for the Guild, I'm waiting for the bits to arrive.

And we've done quite a bit with the DCC and sound programming last year.

So I think I'm having a clearing up year, which should mean I can start a new project in the back half of the year. The D15 or a Brighton Atlantic would be good; the carriages will need a passenger loco to haul them!

Anything I fancy :) ranging from completing another Western to 1/32 projects, from 1/35 AFVs to laser bits and from 3d printing to LGB for the boys? I think that covers all eventualities!!

Not counting the commissions lined up:

Build baseboards.
Build and lay track (actually that's Graham, not me).
Create mock-ups of buildings and civil engineering.

Build a couple of shunting Bucks.
Build a handful of opens (or one really good one and have the rest cast in resin).
Backdate and repaint my sand wagon.
Create artwork for pre-1903 GER transfers.
Cease procrastinating.

Going to keep my project list short to give myself the best chance of completing it:

1) finish the 517;
2) build a wagon or two to go with it;
3) build a stretch of S7 track for them all to go on; and
4) try not to get distracted from 1 to 3 above :))

Could be a hard year - I invested in a copy of Gerald Wingrove's work on scratchbuilding cars and I am struggling to resist the temptation of building a Morris Commercials J-Type :)

Oo, and I'd like to learn how to use CAD to produce etch artwork for a SECR P Class build :)

Oh dear :)) See? No chance!

I'm taking the same tack as Rob - Like last year be nice and vague. So my projects are
  • finish something
  • learn something
  • and have fun
As long as I manage 2 out of the 3 then I'll be happy.
