Listen.
Can you hear that silence?
That's the result of you being nice to me, that is.

Result! I'll have to be nice more often ;)

Ah yes, the one with the lovely corners which fail to mate properly.
Good luck - even a man of your prodigious talents will need it, what with two obstacles to overcome at once: worn moulds and a silly scale to boot!

I won't be needing luck; a bit of bodgery and sleight of hand should suffice. After all, the Midland stock will all be rattling down the cut & cover tunnels with a fleeting gasp for air between dingy high brick embankments. In fact I might as well model a train of highly detailed roofs over lumps of roughly sawn two-by-two.

Not forgetting the body on the roof to be (automatically) jettisoned onto the track at an appropriate, crowd-pleasing, moment.

Nothing like setting yourself a really challenging task for the New Year, is there?
How long do you think this being nice to me will last, then?
and a set of submarine plans tucked into his pockets for that final touch.
Hey, is that a torpedo in your pocket, or do you simply like my models?

All this talk of projects for 2013 has given me the perfect excuse for not doing much modelling in the past few days: they would have all been projects started "last year" by Tuesday!

More seriously, I am going to try to be a lot more focused in the future, seeing as I have a little over 2 years now before the next "big" birthday, so some trimming of sails is likely to be in order. I have actually created quite a list already, but it is in my head until some progress is made. Not setting myself up for that one! All I can say is, Jordan would like it... ;)

Me for 2013.... rather optimistic though:).

On the O scale front
Finish: SR USA tank; BR Drewry 04
Build from kits: LBSC push/pull set; LBSC C2X; Stephensons Rocket, rolling stock.

On t' HO dark side - mess about with some British Colombia Rail Budd RDCs and BCR, SP, SSW, SOO, CN, DB, NS, etc locos.

......and eventually build some layouts to run everything on.

The result...... nowt will get done :)

My projects for 2013 are:

Finish my scratchbuilt Ruston 88DS (before someone produces a kit!).
Make a start on a Peckett "Yorktown" scratchbuild.
Build and fit some proper legs and control panel for the layout.
Make a start on an EM gauge shunting plank.

I was going to add get the Slaters Manning Wardle F working but I want to aim for something that I have a chance of being able to do!

Ok, so among other things (all in 4mm, EM)

Complete Thomas Hill 0-6-0 (this is at the pick-ups and paint phase)
Complete Class 74 - handrails and route code indicator box
Complete Hornby Q1 conversion - this runs, but requires a large amount of fiddly minor detail.
Complete wagons, assorted. Including a pair of Coil S, a Bogie Bolster D (Bachmann retro-conversion), A pair of scratchbuilt Coil Ks started over Christmas
Detail upgrades on a pair of Cambrian ballast hoppers
A CSP S&D Sentinel (to be converted to a post-war type, simply because I can).

All that's probably in the realms of the achievable. I think.

A change in direction*. That's my project for 2013, and it is already underway. There will also be rather more focus.

*No, not rapidly downhill from previously aimless.
