How much 145 do you want Len as I have some to sell, I normally do it by 10M lengths this is approx 100grms. the dia of the solder is 1.2mm. At £8.00 plus P&P at cost.

Hi OzzyO I was thing about buying a roll of 145, I think it's a bit cheaper I did have a look in Maplins but it didn't say what solder it was.
Had a look on their web-site, how can you tell that it's 145, 188 or 240?

I bought the 145 deg. solder from a solder supplier a number of year back, it was a 3Kg. drum of the stuff,

This was bought as 145Deg. solder. As to price I'm not that sure what your saying 5X 100Grms. =500Grms at £8.00 per 100Grms = £40.00

For 188Deg. solder I'd look at the link( http://www.westernthunder.co.uk/index.php?threads/145-solder-rolls.4252/#post-112545 )for 60/40 solder most of them have this melting point.

I got mine from a company called MBO Tools in Haverhill they have them listed on ebay now and then. I paid £32.17 for a 500g roll which included the P&P it's the tin/lead/cadmium version. If you want the healthier option try Somerset solders they do tin/bismuth solder which flows at 138c 500g boxes for £66.50 including p&p but plus vat it comes in 0.8mm or 1.2mm dia.

@ £8.00 per 10M X 2 it should work out at £16 plus P&P at cost, so about £20. But you will get a bit more than 20M. If you wanted 500grams (approx. 50M) of the stuff it would be approx £40.00 plus P&P at cost.

The Roll from MBO was a listing on ebay it included the vat at £32.17

The item no was 141445108357 on ebay it actually cost £27.95 for a 500g roll plus £4.22 p&p. The guy who owns the company has lots of other solders and soldering irons etc still listed on ebay a quick message may get you some solder for the same price if he still has stock.

I have dealt with MBO a couple of times and the guy certainly knows his stuff about solder and flux, it's well worth a chat with him. I also notice that MBOs website has a 'request samples' link!
