Oh dear SWMBO just text the're on the way home and there's black Lima dust and filings all over the kitchen:shit:
Ha Ha :headbang:
Next job will be to get the other 2 sides done, cut down the BG to length, remove and file out all the window apertures ready to fit Easybuild windows, drill out sides for hinge/handles/door rebound bumpers etc clean up and put a new plasticard solebar onto the sides before re-fitting and building out with plastruct section to the required width, don't expect a speedy progress on these Ha Ha.. Making a list for Shawn Kaye of stuff I need for Kettering, need a few bits off Dick 'Westadale' too (rebound buffers for doors and end steps) I'll not be putting sprung buffers on this batch either just Kadees...

TIDY UP FRANTICALLY TIME NOW:shit::rant:

Main issues for me are the lack of bulkheads/partitions in open stock and that theres no ribbing on the roofs. I used Sidelines roof tape for the roof weld lines and plasticard for the partitions. I also noticed the guards compartment on my BSO was fitted the wrong way around at the factory. That was removed and is now sorted.

Well done Ross nice to see you back.

Cheers Ian, I'll try keep the thread up to date, tackling one at a time so as not to overwhelm myself. So far I have got 3 in SR green, 3 in Maroon, 2 in Blue Grey (want one more) and a couple of maroon BG's I'm very pleased with them. I have improved (well in my eyes I have) one of the BGs by cutting windows and scribing a door into the internal guards comp, also adding a floor and wooden boards behind the doors. Ross.

Got a spare roof and interior for an SO and RMB from Ellis Clarke. Plan is to detail the roof by adding new pipe runs, ribbing and middle gutter next to kitchen tank filler overflow. Also the interior is good but as with the other open stock it is devoid of any partitions or screens so will sort that and swap it over with the factory roof and interior of the Blue Grey RMB. Another small issue I had which ECT have sorted without issue is the Commonwealth bogies, they had 3'0" wheels. I got 3'7" FOC from ECT along with shorter springs to adjust the height. The brakes shorted out with the bigger wheels so have done another tweak.
