Bristol temple meads old station

A visit to Bristol saw me mooching around the old station today and I thought what a great model it would make, it was chucking it down so I didnt get any decent photos though

wow it would make a stonking project, the only problem I could see is the roof getting in the way :scratch: Standing there today the thought of a model did cross my mind ......

I don't think it's the whole lot, certainly not the later Digby-Wyatt curved trainshed part that's still in use today....

Several years ago,when it was decided to locate the Empire and Commonwealth museum in the origanal building,I was employed to install extra electrical equipment for them.Just walking up the main staircase made you think......My God,Brunel himself plus all the subsequent cme's have trodden these stairs! The boardroom was stunning,with more than a few nameplates hanging on the walls,but by the time i was able to get there with a camera .......you got it....all gone

I didnt get to go inside but as you say the history is damn impressive, imagine what it must have been like there 150 years ago :shock: makes you think.
