A warning from a man that's done it. I had a major fault in the last two weeks on the layout. I found two chips blown. The only thing we had done was to put in some static grass I have since found out there is a chance that if you do not remove locos from around where you're working and the sieve touches the rail it can blow the chip as the charge is to high for the chip. Better warned then buying new chips.
