What chemicals melt/attack resin?

Hi,

Does anyone know of any chemical that will attack/melt resin briefly? I'm after something that reacts in the same way as plastic weld does with styrene. It must return to a hard surface after the chemical has gone.

Cheers

I don't think anything will, I'm pretty certain that superglue or epoxy resin will be your best bets for sticking resin to itself or other things.

I'm trying to find something that will distress is so I can give it a rippled effect. Make it look more like rolled steel that perfect casting. So am hoping something will attack it.

It will depend on the specific resin, so why not ask the manufacturer?
