Lovely work JB, I love the cylinder taps and all the detail around the block. It would be a real shame to wave it goodbye.

I look forward to seeing a Love Lane video of her in action, when Lockdown is relaxed,

Thanks everyone for all the comments. Always appreciated.

Well in a fit of madness and mis-information, I bought a kit off of eBay that just isn't suitable for what i'm doing? So I can either move it on unbuilt, or I can build it to FS or S7 for anyone that is interested?

Been a bit quiet on the workbench whilst I've been lucky enough to have some work.

More to come soon thankfully, but whilst I have some downtime, I've been getting the skills back before I crack on with the commission.

The LNER F7 - Crystal Palace tank which is still looking for a new home when it's complete.

Trying something new with this one. Split-axle pickup radial trucks.

Hi all, not been around here much lately as (and very grateful in this respect) I've been flat out with work. It's been a fun couple of months surprisingly, with a front cover coming up on a steam mag and what looks to be a 3 month run in 'Motorsport' magazine.

I think things will start quietening down during December though so getting my eye back in to it.

First off I think I'll open a new pot of flux. The old one has had a good innings!

Hoping to get paint on to the J15 so it can go off to the new owner for playing with at Christmas time. Rapidly finish the F7 and finally finally make a solid start on the commission. My apologies for the delay.

Way back in this post you were a little dismissive of an Alan Gibson kit, what are the issues with his kits, please? I am thinking of buying one of his 7mm G6s.
Thanks
David

Oh there are a few problems with the Connoisseur version too if you want to build a good one!

I believe the main issue with the Gibson kit is the size of the boiler barrel. We believe he took the O/D of the boiler barrel itself rather than the boiler barrel + cladding so it's quite noticeably undersized.
