Hi Larry,
I have followed your work for some time, but apart from "liking" posts I tend not to comment.
However, I find myself posting now as I am more than a bit confused!
What scale/gauge you are working in now?
I know you sold off all the 00 stock, then all the 0 gauge stuff, are you back to 4mm/00?

Thanks Mike. Llanfair Road is a real place in my mind. It wouldn't be Llanfair without the platform-mounted signalbox.

Woodland Scenics fine grey ballast was glued with neat PVA in the goods yard and filed down when dry as usual. Dark grey and rust colour were sprayed here and there to give the ground some character...
Long and short grass was added by sticking it into neat PVA and vacuuming off the surplus, which makes the grass stand up...
This was intended to be the coal area, but the dust would have been a nuisance so close to the station...
So the coal yard has been relocated. Empties can be pushed down the long siding if any coaches need stabling.....

I bit the bullet and bought Peco '00' bullhead points & track. There is one flat bottom behind the water tank but its barely noticeable to be honest.
The appearance of 0 gauge track and the Dapol 14xx were always the big draw for me, but the forthcoming 4mm/00 14xx and a full range of 57xx panniers pretty well cancelled out my reasons for 0 gauge.

The dead ends are coming together slowly. It's surprising how long it takes to make small details .....
After adding some stone support for the back of the station building, it was bedded into the platform, then this photo was taken to check these three structures were vertical

Scenery has started at the station end with the long siding finished. Shock-horror, the goods shed leans but it doesn't at the front.... Call in Sherlock Jones.... Checked it out and the back of the good shed leans and bulges. Never spotted it before...

The advantage of laying 1.8" cork over the whole baseboard is being able to cut into it and sink buildings. The base was checked with a set-square...
The hut simply clips in and is removable...
Positioned at the entrance to the yard. A rail-built guard will be added to protect the weighbridge. Vinyl grass moulded with a heatgun forms the raised ground onto which will be glued static grass.....

Still watching your continued progress Larry with interest and gaining much needed inspiration as usual. In my humble opinion placing the coal siding alongside the back scene is a master stroke. This adjustment has greatly increased the depth of the layout and taken away the ‘cramped’ look …… now leave it as it is and carry on regardless it’s looking really good .
