Clearly, for the OP, it was. It is also worth pointing out that he is a resident of Canada.
Now I suspect that as with many things, the views on certain subjects vary considerably between us cynics in the UK & our North American brethren. My own first thoughts on reading that this thread was about a Masonic Lodge turned to Secret Handshakes, which led of course, to Monty Python....
This was just my own reaction. No disrespect is inferred or intended to the OP, Micheal, for whom this is clearly an important event & milestone in his life.

...and a good friend of mine sadly now afflicted with Altzheimers has been accepted in to a Masonic Nursing Home even though he's had no Masonic connections.
