On the 'all in one' style, no (they come with plunger pick up)

With Delrin chain drive - yes! Put the split under the Delrin sprocket.

The ABC motor bogie for diesels, with a cardan shaft connecting the front and rear axle of the bogie, is not one for split axles. I asked just this question of Brian Clapperton - the answer was accompanied by a sharp intake of breath... "Oh no, the axles run in ball bearings and the arcing between ball and race whilst under power would pit the hardened steel surface of the races" .

Pick-up with this design of motor bogie is plunger pick-up running on the back face of the tyre... the operation of the plungers is nice and smooth on the bogies which Peter has bought for his Class 37. If there is a downside of the product it is that the item comes in best brass finish - blackened side frames ought to be an option.
