I've recently come to the conclusion that model locomotives needs a crew to bring them to live.
To this effect, I purchased some Modellu figures.
I have studied a couple of tutorials on YouTube from military figure painters and borrowed some techniques.
Primarily, black primer is applied over the entire figure, followed by white sprayed from above to create light and shade.
Following this, thinned coats are applied which don't fully cover the black and white to show the light and dark through. A darker version of the main colour is used to flow into the shadows and creases and when dry, a light dry brush to highlight the raised detail.
I used Vallejo acrylics.
This is a first attempt and I'm quite pleased with the result.
