Tony West

Western Thunderer
I cant quite account for how I came accross this forum....but here I am !.
Right then lets get on with the confessional/ intro. I am a Covkid ( cheap bid for sympathy !!) and emmigrated south to darkest Berks a few years ago !.
I have to confess to a terminal obsesssion with the Great Central in historical research and modelling , firstly in 4mm and for the last ten years in 7mm.........and if that wasnt bad enough .....I am developing a growing interest in 0 gauge German modelling,DB, late fifties/early sixties, at least its West(ern!!)Germany !!!........so do I close the dooor on my way out ???.
Cheers Tony.

Humm, you were spotted yesterday... posting before saying hello is definitely one for awarding back row status, you may find it a bit crowded though. As to closing the door, WT is rather like Hotel Callifornia - you may check out but you can never leave.

As penance I suggest that you start, immediately, a workshop thread on building a GCR 9K.... which I recollect you have been talking about as long as I have been listening to the 7mm Yahoo Group on the radio ;);)

regards and best wishes, Graham

Now that I should be able to oblige when I have some time. I have a Heljan limited edition (no yellow panel) Deltic which I will sound chip and weather, and a rake of 8 Peter Cowling QOS Pullmans. Quite what it will be doing roaring through Heyside I don't know, but I will be grinning from ear to ear:)

Welcome Tony,

posting before saying hello is definitely one for awarding back row status, you may find it a bit crowded though
but you need an invite for the back row as it's an exclusive club only and we have a waiting list as it is :p

Time to buy some more seats? I was about to type "chairs" and then pondered.... what will the average WT wit say in reply?

Welcome Tony, and hope you enjoy the mad house:D that is Western Thunder.
German railways eh, sounds like "ze eagle has landed" there's a fair few in Area 51 that are LNER orientated so your Great Central will be very interesting.

See what I mean? Entertaining (a smiley which is a candidate for Strictly 2012) and informative (WTers now know what to watch (or not to watch) on some other social medium.

Is there any occasion for which Jordan does not have an appropriate emoticon?

Tony,

Nice to see you here, there's a Gladiator D11 kit round here to build so you may yet get 'tapped up' for info. And I'll be interested to see the German stuff - I'm still doing the DR Ep4 in H0. Just not as much of it as I once did!
