When I needed some for my factory building, I easily found plenty of people making letters in laser cut plywood selling on e-Bay and elsewhere. Good choice of typefaces and any size required. Plenty of uses for letters other than railway modelling, so shouldn’t be a problem. Sorry can’t remember the name of the supplier I used but their main business appeared to be cut out shapes for Christmas tree decorations and other small self-assembly items, letters just being part of their range.
