Next attach the ends to the floor.

Then the sides and check that all is square. Some use a glass plate, but the table is pretty flat.

I've used Milliput again to fill the joins.

IMG_1062.jpg

A quick blast with red oxide primer to show up any marks and will be a base for my weathering. I don't want the underframe to be as rusty looking. So I've painted the top before fitting.

The underframe, W irons attached and square.

More tomorrow.

Yes, I think it was a pound or less.
50p according to their terms
http://www.parksidedundas.co.uk/acatalog/Terms.html

Which considering that they are Slaters wheels and they charge 51p extra for S7 wheels then you are getting them at a discount!!!

I have got a couple of PD kits which I usually collect from a local exhibition. As long as you give them a few days notice then they are quite accommodating in swapping the wheels for you.

I didn't realise that you could get the kits without wheels for a £9.25 discount.

A little progress this morning has the axle boxes and wheels installed.

Now at the outlaws for lunch, so all modelling has been suspended for the afternoon. Hopefully will get a chance to put more pics and progress later.

Phil;
A little late, perhaps, but I once wandered around a Class 08 (Used to be 08011 'Haversham', the station pilot loco at Aylesbury) with a camera - if want/need/are interested in some more pix then please let me know

Ian
Ian, I would be interested. If you don't mind, Id like to see some pictures posted in the Resources section.

08 exterior and engine bay shots currently going to my Dropbox, should complete some time this evening! seems to be running dreadfully slow at the moment. Class 60 already there, if you want to preview the 08 then they are on my Flickr site but it'd take ages to download them all so best wait until Dropbox is finished and grab the lot in one go.

Just been under... what does the manual say about removing grunge from an anorak?

Use someone else's anorak before you embark the voyage to the dark underworld!

The pit is outside and not covered and is normally 2 feet deep in water, there's a couple of pallets down there, first time I went down I had no idea it was that deep and stood on the 'floating' pallet....believing the water level was only a few inches deep....only to find it was 20+" deep and the pallet disappeared below the surface along with a good portion of my leg, tis not clean water either and it's amazing how much oil scum remains attached to ones clothing upon extraction of ones sodden leg!.

Happily, today the pit had been pumped dry :).

I do think that you are not being kind to this kit... the poor thing is going to have an identity complex soon.

At the top of page no.#12 we have photos of two prototypes... nos. 746517 and 746508. Now we have another photo of a prototype for wagon no.#1... no. 746504. I shall not be surprised to read that wagon no.#2 has gone AWOL in fear of being numbered as root of -1.

Nice prototypes, neat modelling.

Don't worry, it is the same series, just trying to show a prototype that matches my build. Wagon no #2 will be up to the same stage this evening.

Gosh! - I've not seen the square root of -1 mentioned on a railway forum before - does this mean that we are all involved in indeterminate model building?
:)) :)) :))

and yes, fully agree - neat modelling!

The colouring on the side of the sand wagon is "just so".

If you are not careful you will have a queue of fresh-out-of-works wagons with appropriate "defect" cards on their way to your wagon repair bench for suitable distressing.
